PRME Champion schools Hanken School of Economics in Finland, Audencia Business School in France, La Trobe Business School in Australia, and ISAE/FGV in Brazil have created video based learning material on each of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project is both part of their involvement as PRME Champions for 2019 but also a project of the CR3+ network to which they all form part.
The overall objective of the project is to create combined digital learning material on the SDGs making full use of the individual expertise of the participating schools. During the past year, the four schools have individually created videos on 4 SDGs using existing resources and capacity (in total covering 16 SDGs) and together a video on SDG 17. Each video lasts from 5 minutes to maximum 15 minutes. The videos cover both the international perspective but also offer some local insights and examples.
The idea was to create something which can be used by other PRME Business schools as teaching material, while at the same time being a model of something replicable and scalable. For examples, the videos have already been used at Hanken School of Economics as part of a Masters’ capstone course on Global competence and social responsibility.
At La Trobe business School, Dr. Swati Nagpal has been posting special blog posts which feature not only each of the 17 videos but provide additional information on each of the SDGs including a particular focus on Australia’s commitments. The posts are being shared leading up to the CR3+ conference, which will be taking place in Melbourne at LBS from the 24th to the 25th of October 2019. The two-day conference will focus on how to use dialogue to build partnerships for sustainability with a particular focus on progressing the SDGs.
All 17 videos are currently acting as a groundwork for a MOOC titled ‘’Exploring and Problematizing the Sustainable Development Goals in relation to business’’ which will be launched early next year on the online learning platform FurtureLearn. The MOOC project is managed and funded by Hanken Business School with the endorsement of other members of CR3+ network.
